Formed in 2017 as a local group connected to the Indivisible Movement, Indivisible Washington’s 8th District has been integral in electing (and re-electing) Dr. Kim Schrier as our Congresswoman since the 2017 election cycle. We also support state and local representatives who share our progressive values up and down the ballot as well as federal and state legislation that make Washington state a better place for all.
Here’s a little more about us and ways to engage to defend our democracy
Who We Are
- We are a local grassroots community committed to electing progressive leaders, saving our democracy, and defeating MAGA extremism.
- We are inclusive, respectful, action-oriented, and fun. Our primary focus is WA Congressional District 8, represented by Dr. Kim Schrier.
- We have over 1,500 members in our private Facebook Group.
- We are connected to Indivisible groups across Washington state and the country.
What We Do
- We come together for monthly in-person Community Meetings, and for rallies and events.
- We support progressive candidates for federal, state and local elections – canvassing, phone banking, texting and sending postcards.
- We advocate for progressive legislation here in Olympia and in the other Washington.
- We communicate regularly about events, issues, and legislation via Facebook, email and our website.
- Our Research Team shares easy ways to “TakeAction” through email and Facebook posts twice weekly (Mondays & Wednesdays).
- We meet regularly with Rep. Schrier and her staff, to bring issues to her attention and hear news from DC, and we share what we’ve learned with our members.
- We work with other progressive organizations and allies to effect positive change.
