The time to vote is

Got your ballot in? Great! Now’s the time to check in with your friends, family, and neighbors to see if they’ve voted, too!

Funny, but, some of our most aware, “plugged in” friends haven’t voted yet. It’s understandable – PNW summers are glorious, super short, and busy. Plus, we’re a bit distracted by the wave of hope and energy over VP Kamala Harris running for President! 

Voter turnout in the Primary in King County and statewide is low. 

That’s an opportunity. It means every vote has a lot of impact in which candidates will be on our ballots in November, and who will represent us for the next several years.

Let’s harness the wave of excitement. Please personally check in your besties with a text, call, visit, or email to be sure they have voted.   

If they have any questions about their ballot that you cannot answer, no pressure!

After making sure all your friends and family have voted, there are lots of sign-waving and phone banking opportunities to further increase last-minute turnout. Check with the campaigns on our election resource page.

Community Meeting Saturday, August 10th

Be sure to join us for our monthly community meeting this Saturday, August 10, at 10:00 a.m. at the Issaquah Hatchery’s Watershed Science Center!

We will be celebrating our endorsement of Kamala Harris for President and we’ll be doing a deep dive into the Primary Election results and what we do to make sure that we elect candidates that share our values up and down the ballot in November!

And as an added bonus, Kamala Harris will be there!!!  Well, maybe not the real one, but a life-sized replica of our current Vice-President and future President will be in the house and eager to have her picture taken with you.  So, if you missed your opportunity to have a selfie taken with her at our recent sign-wave in Issaquah, you won’t want to miss this one!

• Wednedsday August 7th, Indivisible is starting an “Apathy to Action” education series of zoom calls. The kickoff topic is de-escalation techniques. In a perfect world, communicating with people would be easy. We could approach them confidently, leading with shared values to open their minds and have an honest conversation. Unfortunately, not all conversations and interactions are seamless. Sometimes, we run into unexpected pushback and challenges, especially in locations with tension.
  If you want to build confidence to ensure you are equipped to navigate any unexpected direction a conversation or physical interaction takes, join us!
• Also Wednesday August 7th, Indivisible is running a weekly Women Wednesdays For Harris actions zoom call to build on the success of the record-shattering zoom “Women Answer the Call” event. Come hear the most timely and urgent actions to keep the White House blue every Wednesday from now until the election.
• Thursday August 8th, there is a continuation of the Project 2025 Teach-in series. This one focuses on how the MAGA agenda threatens our access to healthcare of every kind.
