#TakeAction – May 8, 2020

Happy Friday! Here is how you can #TakeAction today, May 8th:

🔶 Walk, jog or run 2.23 miles in dedication of Ahmaud Arbery
🔶 Demand Congress protect the Postal Service

1) Action: Last February, Ahmaud Arbery, an African American man in Georgia, was brutally shot and killed by two white men while jogging in his neighborhood. The two men were just arrested yesterday, but we remember this innocent man and the date he was killed, on 02/23 by walking, jogging, or running 2.23 miles (or whatever you can do). Please post a picture of yourself doing this with the hashtag, #IRUNWITHMAUD. Today, May 8th, would be his birthday.

2) Action: Call our members of Congress, ask them to protect the US Postal Service in the next Coronavirus relief bill:

House Democrats say that without this funding bill, the Postal Service may not make it past September without missing payrolls or service interruptions. We must stop Republicans from using an economic crisis that they are actively making worse to pursue their political ends and protect this delivery service that employs 600,000 workers (and 90% of Americans view favorably).
