#TakeAction – April 13, 2020
Happy Monday! Let’s do the work (from home) – #TakeAction April 13, 2020
🔹- Demand Congress protect the United States Postal Service
🔹- Write our MoCs a letter so they prioritize a Coronavirus People’s Bailout
Action 1: Congress must protect the United States Postal Service. Call our Members of Congress: protect the US Postal Service in the next Coronavirus relief bill.
The Postal Service’s decades-long financial troubles have worsened dramatically as the volume of the kind of mail that pays the agency’s bills ― first-class and marketing mail ― withers during the pandemic. The USPS needs an infusion of money, and President Trump has blocked potential emergency funding for the agency that employs around 600,000 workers, repeating instead the false claim that higher rates for Internet shipping companies Amazon, FedEx and UPS would right the service’s budget. Trump threatened to veto the $2.2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security, or Cares, Act if the legislation contained any money directed to bail out the USPS.

Action 2: Write our MoCs a letter so they prioritize a Coronavirus People’s Bailout
Email your representative and two senators and demand they prioritize a People’s Bailout. Use Indivisible’s tool at this link to send a letter to your three members of Congress, which outlines what a People’s Bailout would include: https://act.indivisible.org/letter/tell-your-members-congress-prioritize-people-first-economic-stimulus
