#TakeAction – November 14, 2019

Here are two #TakeAction to take today to support DACA and immigrants, and oppose another unqualified Trump judge:

🔶 Donate to help immigrants and DACA recipients
🔶 Ask Senators to oppose Steven Menashi for Appeals Court Judge

1. The DACA case was heard in the Supreme Court this week. If the court rules against it, immigrants may be deported to countries they don’t know and possibly don’t speak the language.
Two ways to donate to help immigrants and DACA recipients:
• Together Seattle will be holding a dine out to support the Northwest Immigrant Rights Center (NWIC) today. 10% of your purchases at specific restaurants today will be donated to NWIC. See the full list of participating restaurants here: http://www.togetherseattle.org/where-to-go-alphabetical-list
• Home is Here (https://homeishere.us) offers immigration clinics and helps DACA-eligible immigrants pay application and renewal fees. Having up-to-date papers can help immigrants remain in the US. Donate here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/dacarenewal…

2. The Senate will vote on Steven Menashi’s nomination today. Call Senators Murray and Cantwell before 10:45 this morning:

“Hello, my name is ____ and my zip code is _____. Please vote NO on Steven Menashi’s confirmation to the U.S. Court of Appeals. Menashi has shown that he’s hostile towards Muslims, women, the LGBTQ+ community, lower-income families, and immigrants. He cannot be trusted to fairly decide matters before the court. Please do all you can to persuade Republican Senators to vote NO also. Thank you.”
