#TakeAction – August 19, 2019

Good morning! Here’s to another week of solidarity. It’s August recess and while groups in red areas are bird dogging their elected officials at public events we can take a quieter approach. Or, we can work hard on local races.

Carol has been posting about ways to help candidates at the local level under the hashtag #DoTheWork, because that’s what it requires to get this country turned around, doing the work. Stay tuned for her posts. Here are a few other things you can do to #TakeAction during August recess:

  1. Become part of WAISN’s rapid response network to protect immigrants from Trump’s hate. (Training: https://actionnetwork.org/forms/waisn-rapid-response-webinar-trainings?fbclid=IwAR2Ds9FFkM-OU_97jDluapksYLs0dY60T4bFlDT3Q0PPZNlny5l68LODSpU)
  2. Learn about impeachment and why we have been pushing for it. Talk to people in your community, help influence the national conversation. (Resource: https://indivisible.org/resource/impeaching-trump-hold-him-accountable)
  3. RSVP to join us and Lawyer Moms of America to be part of a national letter delivery day on Aug 22nd. (Info: https://www.lawyermomsofamerica.org/2019letterdelivery)

P.S. I mentioned above that people in red areas are spending their August recess bird dogging their electeds at public events. We won a national “Indi” award for doing just this with Dave Reichert. We won the “Birddogging the hell out of them” award! What an honor when you think about the hard work going on across the country. 💪💪💪
